Primark Lip Stain

If you regularly read my blog you will remember my post on this dress, my mammy had been a lovely wee mammy and bought me a few things throughout the day. Today's post will be a quick one of another of these gifts.

I picked this up on the way to the till, you know all those little semi circles filled with goodies on your way to the till? Well I saw this, and I haven't tried any lip stains yet, thought I'd give it a go. At only £1.50 it was a bargain!

After coming home that day I looked up some reviews and was apprehensive as they all said this stain lived up to it's name! One even said it didn't come off for 3 days! I very carefully applied it on friday afternoon for catching up with some friends, I added a touch of lip balm over the top as I found the stain really dried my lips out. This catch up then turned into a nearly all night party (I still made it to the jobcentre the next again day of course, as I am superwoman!)

During the night though I noticed the stain had all but come off. So it stains until alcohol and smoking are factored in! I really liked the colour it did give though, my mum thought it might have been a bit harsh for me as I am so pale but I thought it clashed well. I'll try it again with different outfits, I was wearing the yellow dress, and see if mother was correct. She usually is!

I really like that the pen is like a felt tip pen, but I'm going to have to store it upside down to see if it helps as I've noticed, after only one use and the swatch below that the nib is really drying out.

Sorry I'm not a better photographer! This picture is doing the stain no favours, it's brighter looking at it now but you still get the general idea for the colour.

Have you tried Primark Lip Stains? What did you think?

What's On My Face Today

The past few days I've not been wearing much make up. Enough for a wee natural glow and a stand out feature.
Todays products are Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream (3rd day of using this sample!), Constance Carroll Mega Volume Waterproof Mascara, Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Colour Comfort Lip Colour in Golden Berry and Sally Hansen Natural Butter Lip Shine.

Apart from the BB sample, I purchased all these products from Poundland! The mascara is great for during the day if you don't want out there lashes, just a nice bit of coverage. It would probably look better if I could find my eyelash curlers! And my lips feel amazing! Both the lipstick and the lip butter are nourishing, the colour is great and I think they look fab together! It's a nice rich brown with the shine of the gloss with a golden shimmer to it.

The BB Cream, oh my word I love it! I don't think I'll ever be going back to foundation. I used to have so many problems with foundation; finding the right shade (casper skin!), decent coverage, value for money. Plus it would make my skin feel really heavy, like the foundation was just sitting on top of my face whereas with the BB, it feels like my skin absorbs it and makes me look great! Nice natural, healthy glow. Love it, love it, love it!

This is my first What's On My Face Today, hopefully not my last! Hope you enjoyed it :)

Lifelong product?

Miss Sporty Eye Pencil

So I first found this eyeliner as a teen, whilst feeling oh so grown up and make up shopping with my friends. I was drawn to it because it was cheap and black, little did I know, years later I'd still be using it!

I love this liner, love it! I've tried others and they have always come up short. The colour is solid, it goes on my waterline fantastically, I don't have to use too much pressure which I'm always wary about, being so close to my eyes.

I could forever sing the praises for this liner. I don't know why but despite loving the liner, I haven't tried any of their other products. Would you recommend any?

Do you have any products you still use after so many years? Let me know about them below!

Thank you kind stranger!

I had my first proper interaction today with a Benefit counter and staff today. In the past I've always wistfully walked past them but never stopped and spoken to the staff. I changed that today.

I went to the counters/mini shop in Debenhams, Buchanan Street in Glasgow. I say mini shop as here in Falkirk we have one tiny wee counter. Today there were about 3 counters, stands, brow bar and tanning room!

It was only a quick chat, I'm still very nervous about approaching make up staff. I don't know, fear of judging, not feeling good or worthy enough, my anxiety, silly little reasons!

So the lady put some red gloss on me, I forget the name, which is rather annoying (I should start taking notes for beauty encounters!) and also a swish of a beautiful rather deep pink blush. I told her I'm terrified of blush but she explained that the right amount of blending and blush can do wonders!

I was then shown a couple more items, she swatched a few very pigmented shadows that I fell in love with! Told me a bit about the brow bar and tanning.

I then unfortunately left without buying anything as I am skinto but the wee touch of make up gave me a surge of confidence and when I do have money to splash on Benefit goodies, I'll be returning to that store in particular!
