Florals for a fiver

How gorgeous is this dress?! I've never really worn much yellow, never thought it suited me but as soon as I tried it on, I fell in love with it!

From the picture the dress looks like a really mellow yellow, sunny kind of colour but in reality it's more of a lemon yellow. Very bright! Looking at pictures online, it seems to be showing up mellow is pretty much all the pictures. I love the skinny purple belt that comes with the dress, I usually choose to wear a broad belt as I am a tad self concious of my weight/size but with this dress, the skinny goes great!

Correct me if I'm wrong (and I know I probably will be) but it's a pleated skater dress/ sun dress. It has a lining under that is about an inch or two shorter than the actual dress and the dress is made of polyester.

I know I'm chancing it by getting such a summery dress but I just couldn't resist it! I love that it covers my chest but I still have a bit of decollage on show. As my mother just said, you don't always have to have the box office on display. Love my mammy so I do! Unfortunately due to the size of my chest and probably my hips too, I had to buy a size 20.

The length is great as well. In between my hips and my knees. I'm wearing it with leggings just now but if I was feeling brave I could go with nothing underneath it. I wont be that brave for a while though!

The dress is from Primark and it was in the sale so it only cost a fiver! Chuffed with that, thanks mammy!

Have you bought anything in the sales yet?

Comfort and Crumbs

I cannot for the life of me remember where I got this wee set, I haven't even used it yet! It smells amazing though, like a sweet shop! I love the tin so once I've used the items inside I'll definitely be keeping it, to use as what, I do not yet know. Suggestions are welcomed :)

As some readers of this blog might know, I don't have a bath in my house, only a shower. It's the cause of a lot of upset when I am near a lush shop. No ballistics for me. Sadtimes!

So aye, here is a few pictures of what's inside the lovely tin, a body scrub, a bath wash (sob!) and a wee puff? A scrunchie sponge? A... I have no idea what to call it, I'll stick with puff! Which is very handy seeings as my last one got magically unravelled by the mister!

Like I said, I haven't used these yet as I have so much shower stuff but I'll need to use it soon, it smells so delicious I just can't resist!

Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing Foundation Primer

So I was sent this from Smashbox a few months ago because I signed up for their newsletter. I've never used a primer before so I had no idea what to expect. After talking to Smashbox via their Facebook about the primer they told me how the product works and how to apply it. Only a small amount of the product is needed for your whole face. For these pictures, I used a bit more than needed just to show you what it looks like.

As you can see once blended in, it's very shimmery with a hint of colour. I love this product, you can wear alone if you don't want to use too much on your face or under a foundation to prime it. I would have shown what it looks like with foundation over it but I don't actually have any in my bag, I'm all about BB Creams these days ;)

You can buy this foundation primer from http://www.smashbox.co.uk and it's £25 for a 30ml bottle. This is a bit more than what I pay for my products just now so I'm not going to rush out and buy it once the sample is finished. Once I get a job and I've been in it a few months, I'll probably then get a bottle.

Collection 2000 Skyscraper

Guess where I got this? Go on, I dare you? If you guessed Poundland, give yourself an internet cookie. I got this the same day that I got my Rimmel Stir It Up (see yesterdays post).

I'm usually very fussy when it comes to mascara so when I bought this it was on blind faith as I couldn't open the packaging till after I'd bought it. I like to see the what the brush is like before I buy it. When I opened this though, I was extremley chuffed! I love these kinds of brushes.

Sorry for the blurry picture, trying to get the camera to focus was not easy!

"Collection 2000 Skyscraper Mascara boasts a new super-lengthening, clump-free formula with a double-action brush to lengthen and define your lashes leaving you with a flutter that could flatten even the tallest skyscraper."

I love the fact that the brush or bristles are different lengths all around the brush, meaning you can get to every lash. The shorter bristles for your bottom lashes and adding volume to the base of your top lashes then the longer bristles to add more definition.

I can't wait to try this mascara out and let you know the results. I'm hoping the are good ones! :)

Have you tried Skyscraper? If so, let me know below!

Rimmel Stir It up

Ok, just look at this... It's bleeding gorgeous! As soon as I saw this I had to have it. And guess where I found it? POUNDLAND...again.

I've managed to borrow Louis' camera and laptop so I can get some decent pictures up, meaning you guys can see it properly. I have to share it with you all!
In all my excitement, I forgot to take a picture of the back of the eyeshadow, sorry! It's shade 800 and it's called No Way! 4g pot and of course it cost £1 :D

I love all the different shades that combine together to make up this eyeshadow, white, black, grey and blue with a splash of glitter thrown in for good measure.

It's a great combination, making for a stunning eyeshadow. So much so that I didn't want to use it. I need to stop thinking like that though, sure it's pretty but it'll look prettier on!

Once combined and swatched you get a beautiful shade! A lovely dark grey/blue with the hints of darker and lighter shades coming in and a sprinkling of glitter. The texture as well is amazing! It feels quite creamy and thick but goes on like a powder. Odd but fantastic.

I'm marking this down as another poundland bargain of the week, month, year, century, forever?!

What do you think?

Decorative vs purpose

Remember my birthday hamper I spoke about in this post, well, here I am back with more goodies from it! When I saw these, I did think they were just decorative balls until I looked at the bottom and saw ingredients...

Turns out I was wrong. The smallest to your left is a solid perfume, the medium sized one to the right is a hand cream and the larger one up the top is a glistening body cream. All three smell quite nice, with a hint of musk to them. Turns out this wee set is from M&S. I've never actually had any toiletry type prodcuts from there so I was going in with an open mind.

The products themselves are fine. Not fantastic but not horrible, it's a lovely wee scent However, I actually use them more as decoration, they just look so shiny and look lovely in my bathroom! I'll maybe remember every so often after coming out the shower that they open and have product inside them and dab a wee bit on but I don't go out of my way to use them.

I've only swatched the glistening body cream to show you how it looks. Can't really show off a solid perfume and the hand cream you can't really notice once it's blended in. This body cream is cute though, nice wee shimmer to it. I'd probably save it for a night out and maybe add a bit to my moisturiser for a wee sparkle.

Do you have any decorative toiletries?

Technic Electric Beauty

Technic Electric, just rolls off the tongue doesn't it?

I'm an idiot and forgot to take a picture of the the case closed so I've had to google an image to show you all.. sorry!

I got this palette from Bodycare a few months back and think I paid about £2.99 for it, which of course is a steal of a price. I must have caught it on sale as I've just searched for it and it's coming up a bit more than that. Such a good bargain hunter me! ;)

Dirty mirror! D: Just a quick picture to show all the colours together.

I think this palette is fan-bleeding-tastic! The colours, the pigmentation. They blend fantastically, I just love, love, love it! Now for some close ups...

As you can see, I've used a couple of these a few times but there are still a few untouched colours. Need to work on some looks and see what I can come up with. I'm not so fantastic at applying make up, it's always hit and miss with me. I'll learn one day!

Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Lip Colour

Hello lovelies! As you can see from the title, today I'm talking about Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Lip Colours. I go these two beauties from, would you believe it, Poundland! I should become an ambassador for that place soon!

A colour I always wear and a new one. Mix it up a bit!

I love these two lipsticks. Adore them! You can probably tell from the wear on them both! They are so nourishing and look at the colour! Despite my undying love for red lips, I actually prefer the Golden Berry. It's such a nice dark brown but still with red tones. So it's a bit of both, something new and something old.

The only downside to buying these gorgeous shades from Poundland is that I probably won't find them again in there, shouldn't take too long to find them on the net. Just hope I don't have to pay too much over what I paid for these.

Do you wear Sally Hansen makeup or just use their nail care?

Making a space of my own

Since I can remember, all my life is usually sprawled across my house. Never organised and usually looks like a riot. I've decided to tackle this head on! A few days ago I took an old changing table that's been sitting doing nothing, brought it into my room and decided to set up all my beauty products on it!

I think this looks so much better than everything being stuffed into bags and then me having to rummage through to find something! All I need to finish it off is a live big mirror!

Now that I've organised this part, I need to move on to something else now!

Where do you keep all your products?

Cheap makeup - friend or foe?

Louis was a lovely boyfriend today and bought me these things from poundland after I fell in love with them! I think poundland can be fantastic for picking up a bargain, especially make up wise. I've purchased Rimmel and Sally Hansen products from there before, just had to rummage for a bit! It can be hit and miss sometimes but it must just depend when they get deliveries and certain products in. Long story short, I love poundland! ;)

The packaging for poundland makeup is, understandably very basic. All the Chit Chat products below are stuck to a piece of cardboard with a plastic sleeve over it. On the back of this plastic sleeve is the sticker with all the products ingredients and such.

Now, onto the products. The two polishes... I love green and purple, especially when put together! Both these shades look so vibrant and wow, I think they'll look great on their own or together! The colours on the packaging simply state they are lime and purple. I've never tried Chit Chat polish but I'm really looking forward to! These are both 12ml bottles for £1 each and have a shelf live of 18months according to the packaging.

Deep cleansing nose strips, the past week or so, I've been noticing that the pores on my nose are horrendous! No matter what exfoliator, soap, scrub, anything I use, they won't go away! If these don't work I'll need to try and steam clean my face!

Now these next two products, they look awfully similar don't they! I'm sure Benefit has some products like this ;) These were actually the first items I spotted and no wonder. Right now I don't have £23.50 to spend on the Benefit products (I hope to one day!) so for now, £1 products will do me just fine!! These are both 12ml bottles too with a shelf life of 24 months. I really love the highlighter, I can see me using that quite often. The cheek tint, I'm not too sure about, its looking rather purpley/pink on my arm right now from where I swatched it. Maybe I didn't rub it in quick enough or that's just the colour it comes out as, I'll try it on my cheeks another day and write up a post. While writing this, I actually just dabbed some on my lips to see what it was like and I love that!!

I'm now off to wash my face and deep cleanse my nose. Hope you enjoyed reading!
Do you use Chit Chat products or would you use them? How do you feel about cheap makeup?

Sneaky mascara!

So I bought Scandaleyes back when it had first come out and got it for £4.99 if I'm remembering correctly. Since buying it, it has hidden from me at every opportunity! I can go weeks without it then it pops up somewhere. This morning I stuck my hand down the side of the couch to find the remote and pulled out.... well the remote and... my beloved mascara. Happy days!

So I love this mascara, simply put, its amazing! I don't have the greatest 'naked' lashes and this just adds so much oomph/ooh-la-la. I feel so fabulous when I know I'm wearing it! It has a nice big brush that gives your lashes a nice coating of the wonderful feeling mascara.

It adds so much length, volume and colour to my lashes without being heavy or clumpy. In my opinion its quite a versatile mascara, it can be worn day or night. For a day lash I'll wear the mascara and not put anything else on my eyes, as the pictures show below. I think the mascara is enough by itself for daywear. For a night look, I'd wear the mascara with shadow and liner, a dark smokey look would probably go great with it!

So all in all, a big thumbs up from me!

Do you use Scandaleyes? What's your wonder mascara?

Review: Sanctuary Body Butter

So I got this in my birthday hamper that my best friend made for me back in November.

I've never used body butters much so was quite chuffed when I saw this. Gave me the chance to try one out.
This stuff does exactly what it says on the tin! "Treat your body to an intensive moisture boost with rich cocoa butter, creamy shea butter and smoothing macadamia nut oil."

It smells amazing! And it really is so moisturising and nourishing. I tend to save this butter for using on my problem areas like my elbows and knees. Because I only use it on these places, this 150ml tub will last me quite a while. I also have a Body Shop body butter, from the same birthday hamper but I'll write about that another day.

Do you use any Sanctuary products? Tell me below!

This badboy has become my best friend! So far I can manage 11 minutes before having to stop, I'm aiming to improve myself so that I can go a full half hour each time. I'm quite new to exercise so I don't really know all that much about it but I'm combining going on the cross trainer with crunches and walking. I'm remembering to not use lifts or escalators and instead take the stairs. The ones at my local shopping centre are the worst! Very steep and I'm always a tad out of breath by the time I get to the top.

I don't mind though as I can feel myself getting fitter, I feel better within myself knowing I'm doing something that will in the long run do me and my body a lot of good! The main thing I worry about is my eating. It's so easy for me to slip up there! I hate how easily accessible junk food is, unfortunately it's not something that's going to go away any time soon so I have to just develop some willpower and keep eating healthily!

Tomorrow is weigh in day so let's see if I'm going down the right path.

How do you keep fit? What;s your favourite kind of exercise? Do you have 'cheat days'? Do you eat what you want?

ASOS £100 Blogger Challenge

I've seen a few bloggers taking part in this so I thought I'd give it a go myself! I'm not the most fashionable person there ever were but hey I'm a new blogger, I'll find my fashion feet one day! :)

My favourite part of this outfit has to be the shoes! I actually chose them last after picking everything else and thought they went perfectly with everything I'd already chosen.

What do you think? Have you entered the challenge? Leave me links to your outfits! I'd love to see them!
